If you’re looking for your dream dress this is the place!!!! I had such an amazing experience here after visiting many bridal shops, this place was by far the best. All the ladies were super friendly and made me feel so comfortable and confident! Jan was my stylist; she has a real passion for finding the perfect dress and making brides feel beautiful. I would recommend Jan to anyone who is looking for a skilled stylist who will find THE dress!

My friend made the call to many shops around the Des Moines area for our impromptu dress shopping date, and she was lucky to get a call back from Weddings by Design, when another bride had canceled her appointment at the last minute. I was impressed by the extensive dress selection, and the friendly, helpful staff. Jan was my stylist, and she helped me ease into the mission of choosing dresses by style, budget, and fit. She was attentive and kind, and pleasant to work with. Jan greatly reduced my stress at trying on dresses, and in fact transformed the experience into a delightful adventure. The four thoughtful questions she asked as I made my final decision on a dress, confirmed that it was my favorite choice, and I did say yes to the dress that same day! Jan from Weddings by Design turned my wedding dress shopping into a core memory.

I worked with Jan to find my wedding dress, and I could not have asked for a better experience. Jan was professional, knowledgeable, honest ... she knows her stuff! She worked so hard to find the dress best for me and my body type. She was so good at taking what I liked or disliked about a certain dress, and finding another option to try on. Jan's service and knowledgeable deserve a 5 star review. My review is only a 4/5 because the shop did not call me when my wedding dress arrived - my mom had to call and check on the dress after we started getting nervous. The dress was in store, they just didn't notify us. Not a huge deal - overall we really enjoyed our experience at Weddings by Design!

Weddings by Design made the dress shopping process so fun! They have a great variety of dresses to look at and try on, and their staff is incredibly welcoming from the minute we walked through the door! Not only do they have a great dress selection, but also for suits! They made finding our wedding attire a smooth, and easy process and I would definitely check them out!

The staff are very professional, friendly, caring, and nice. I felt like the staff truly listened to me when I gave feedback about what I liked or didn’t like about a dress.

I can tell that whoever is in upper management, really knows how to train employees on how to care for customers. Not once was I ever pressured into buying a dress, which made me feel super comfortable and felt like I could really enjoy my experience. I always got the impression that the employees are also well taken care of by their boss, which i feel definitely helps create a positive atmosphere.

The only downside about this store is that I wish the store was bigger so they can expand their collection and that they had a seamstress at the actual store. They do give a list of recommended seamstress. I understand why they don’t have a seamstress but I think it would help them “stand out” from the rest of the bridal shops in the area.

While I found my dress elsewhere, I still tried to support local shops and had them preserve my dress….and they LOST IT.

I had to notify both companies that I received someone else’s dress. Both the preservation company and Weddings By Design just pointed fingers each other. It’s been a tough experience…. and still no dress. The staff chose to only communicate via text , then email. Pick up the phone and have a convo like normal humans. If customer service and kindness is important, you should look elsewhere. I wish I had a better experience, because it’s SO important to keep it local when you can.
