We were visiting with the intention to shop and support the business as we have frequently done so in the past, when my 90-year-old grandmother suddenly needed to use the restroom. We were told there were no public restrooms available, which I completely understand is their policy. However, this was a clear emergency, and it was very upsetting that no exception could be made for an elderly woman in obvious distress. The response we were given when asking was extremely unkind and dismissive.

Policies are important, but so is basic human empathy, especially for our most vulnerable community members. I truly hope this business reconsiders how they handle exceptional situations like this in the future.

There are many signs pointing the way to the Schoolhouse Shop. I'm not sure why it took us so long to follow those signs. The shop is housed in a beautiful old schoolhouse that sits in a quiet and rather picturesque spot. I would describe it as a rambling gift shop filled with a surprising variety of items that ranges from candy and party supplies to clothing, home decor, scented soaps and candles, kitchen items and children's toys. We enjoyed browsing in the different rooms and found a few items for ourselves as well as a couple of playthings for our grandchildren. They also serve coffee, a few lunch items and ice cream that can be eaten on a relatively socially distanced patio surrounded by flowers. There is free parking available just outside the shop.

Amazing experience! The Schoolshops are guaranteed to have something for everyone! The quality of merchandise is top notch and the ladies clothing selection was immaculate! We purchased some candy, room spray and gathered some local advertisements about the surrounding area(s). The patio and landscaping was very nice.

This place seemed really lovely, but when I asked to use their restroom they said it wasn't for the public. So I asked if they knew where the closest restroom was, they said they didn't know. Okay, so as an establishment that serves food and drinks it's WILD to me that they don't have a restroom for their patrons to use. Furthermore, you don't know where the nearest public restrooms are? Cool. Don't recommend stopping here.

Outrageous pricing!!! Some variety. Nothing special as far as items go. Knick knack stuff. Extremely overpriced clothing as well. The building itself is amazing being an old schoolhouse but that is all.

In the past - I have really enjoyed coming here, for about 20yrs. Today, my family and I were ignored at first and then followed around by an older female employee. My kids (5 & 4) were chastised, in front of myself and my husband, for putting 3 plastic palm size toy trucks on the "dirty" floor (older sales woman's words). They followed us throughout the store and whispered about us as if we were thieves.. Over the years, I've seen a welcoming, warm store change into a highly surveiled, very unwelcoming place that seems geared twds an older clientele, and extremely unkind to children. I'll never go back, and I've spent some dough here.
