I took a torpedo heater in to be fixed. Was going by there today and decided to stop and see if they had a chance to look at it. The kid that helped me at the service desk was very helpful. He wrote down my name and went to check on it. He came back a few minutes later and told me it was done. I went to the register and paid my bill then pulled around back and loaded it in my truck. I got home and took it in the garage, plugged it in and tried to start it up. It never fired. I took the top off of it and tried to start it again and it isn’t even spraying fuel. The problem I had that I took it in there is it would ignite, but wouldn’t stay burning. it sprayed fuel and tried to ignite it, but couldn’t keep it going. So now it doesn’t spray fuel at all. So I called up to the store and the person I talk to at the service desk put me on hold the next person that answer the phone basically told me that the heater was junk and someone should’ve called and told me that it’s not fixable. Instead, the person told me it was fixed and ready to pick up. This all could’ve been solved by some communication that I never received from the store.

I was actually on my way to another hardware/garden store but saw this place and stopped. The staff was eager to help me find what I needed and the prices were hard to beat! The store is strategically laid out and everything was easy to find. I really loved the products they had available here. Will definitely come back as gardening season progresses!

I thought bringing a piece of equipment here to be serviced was gonna be great. I had never used Porters before. They had my blower for 8 WEEKS. I had to call and call and call to get any info/updates. This was easily the worst experience I have ever had with a hardware store. I will NEVER be returning. I’d rather drive 25 minutes to Ace hardware where I know they’ll be upfront with me. If someone would have told me before the 5th week of waiting that they don’t carry Stihl parts so delivery times are out of their control I would not have even tried to have them fix my blower. Yet no one mentioned it causing me to not have a leaf blower for 2 months when grass was in peak growing season.

DO NOT RENT FROM THEM !! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. WHEN THEY MAKE A MISTAKE, they blame the customer for it and refuse to return their money. One of the owner him self rented, and sold concrete chain saw blade and the chain had NO Diamond teeth, and when I proved to him with an OLD Chain they had on the shelf , he refused to return my $270 for the cost of the chain.

Been a staple for my hardware needs since before I knew I needed needs. Always impressed with their friendly attitudes and dedication to good service. Wouldn't trade them for all the galvanized nails in China.

Zero customer service from the two cashiers. I asked where the compost bags were, and all they said was I don't know. There was an elderly man in the nuts and bolts aisle that was very helpful though. When I went to check-out, the girl I was walking up to, just pointed to the other side. Those two seriously need to learn to work in customer service.
