The tech was great…friendly, knowledgeable, fast…ordered the part, installed it for $65, working fine. However….our overall experience was not great. First of all, they charged us an extra $45 on top of the $99 service/diagnostic fee because I live in Polk City (and the woman I talked to didn’t mention that extra till I’d already booked the appt). Now I can see charging a little extra, maybe $10, but $45 to drive an extra 10 minutes? Also, I called a few other repair shops (Sears and Hometown) to name a couple, and mostly they ‘credited’ you the service/diagnostic fee if you went ahead and had the repair done. I assumed it would be the same with Metro (I forgot to ask, shame on me) but it was not. When I talked to the same woman after getting the total repair cost from from the tech, she told me “we don’t give any credit on the service/diagnostic fee, but you can talk to the tech and see if he’ll wave the labor charge” (yeah right, why would he?) So with a part charge ($181), and a $65 labor charge (which at the very least should have been credited to the $145 service/diagnostic fee) we ended up paying $418. I forgot to add that the tech spent a total of maybe 30 minutes on his two visits…at least they didn’t charge us for two service/diagnostic calls! Honestly, we felt ‘gouged’ and cannot recommend them.

Diagnosed my oven problem quickly and repaired it completely. Didn't have my stove light switch in stock but came back with the part one week later. Only one trip charged! Josh is a skilled technician who listened to my concerns first. Highly recommend Metro Appliance.

We called them about a replacement part for our oven. They said that they had one in stock. We went there Monday morning with the old part in hand. They did have the correct part. They even changed the plug for us. We took it home and had our oven working again. I highly recommend them for any of your appliance repairs!

I own a duplex here in Des Moines. I don’t need to tell you how hard tenants can be on appliances. So over the years, I’ve replaced refrigerators, stoves, washer-dryers - you name it. I ALWAYS go to Metro Appliances. And not once have I been disappointed. Today, two like-new stoves were delivered and installed and the old ones hauled away. Both the store staff and the delivery/install guys couldn’t have been more pleasant & professional. Bottom line - If you’ve got money burning a hole in your pocket, go overspend elsewhere. If you know the value of a dollar, go to Metro Appliances. IYKYK.

I had a repair man here to fix my fridge in November 13, 2024 and all he did was complain about kitchen aids and how they are too hard to work on.. he defrosted my freezer and there went 300$ … my fridge went out again so I called and yet again he didn’t do much and left l. Another 2 times and still he didn’t fix anything. I called and talked to the receptionists and she said if he doesn’t know he will bring a supervisor over with him, no supervisor came… I got no answer or explanation.. since they didn’t fix my fridge i was told that their work is guaranteed for 30 days, fridge is still doing the same thing completely shutting off. They sent the same repairman 4 times PatN I finally asked for my money back. She said I need to talk to the manager I asked put him on, he’s not here will call you back. Never called back then I had to call them again she said the manager needs to talk to another manager. Fridge is still not working. Will need to call a different company.
