Laura Howe, founder and owner of MConstruction is an extraordinary creator and person. I have been buying from her for almost a decade. She tailors everything I buy to fit me in comfortable, flattering, stylish way! Her dresses, pants, coats, and tops have so many personalities - playful, sexy and sophisticated. I am 4’11” and curvy and Laura makes me feel so awesome and honored when I wear her clothes. People will stop me in the street of Oakland, my home, to see where I bought ‘xxx.’ It is an absolute joy to zoom down to LA from the Bay Area to experiment and see which pieces I am drawn to. I always walk away with a few or more pieces! She holds pop ups with a great selection of clothes all over LA and sometimes in NoCAL - so worth the visit! One other thing I love about Laura is her warmth and commitment to supporting her community and local artists! Keep up your amazing work, Laura!

Amazing dress shop located in my hometown Silverlake. It's amazing to find a shop that actually hand makes clothing. It's just something you don't find often. I love coming in and buying a dress and having altered so efficiently. I highly recommend Matrushka for all your dress needs.

I love everything about this place. The clothing is gorgeous, unique and you not only will you look amazing but you feel amazing in it. I am over uncomfortable outfits. They will do free alterations and even make you a dress if you like the style but a different color- basically you can get a handmade outfit custom to you. All the items are handmade by the way. The accessories are also exceptional. I took my daughter here for her senior portrait. She was glowing as she loved not only the dress but the knowledge that she was supporting a neighborhood small business. The woman at the store gifted her these lovely earrings that matched the dress in honor of her special day. It is a mother daughter tradition as I have several dresses from the store as well and they have served me well for many many years. A truly magical place

I love this shop. I found them when I lived in Los Angeles, and now six years later I still buy from the website whenever I see a print I like. The dresses are gorgeous and never wrinkle. Literally every time I go out in a Matrushka dress, i get compliments. Plus, the customer service is great. Truly I can not recommend Matrushka highly enough!

My clothes came rolled into a ball stuffed in a plastic bags. $400 worth of clothes. During shipping the bag was torn and the new clothes I had ordered were exposed open. When I called to complain, the rep disconnected phone on me. When questioned the packaging. Never use this company. Poor customer relations.
