It's been a year & a half since we visited James Carpets. The sale rep was great and very understanding of what we wanted. However, we bought an older home & knew the upstairs, that we needed to recarpet would have some boards that were squeaky. They assured us that the installers would nail down all the boards so we wouldn't hear squeaking. Welpl, 18 months later and there is a lot of squeaky boards. And the only way for us to fix that issue, is to rip up the carpet. Smh!

This has been the worst experience dealing with a flooring company i have had. The gentlemen that showed up 7 hours late the first day to fill/level a concrete hole, lay down a hardwood patch in my floor and then place down the quarter round. He however didn't have the concrete to patch it and couldn't speak any English so communication was barely achieved using a cell phone translation ap. We finally were able to establish that he would return the next nay at 9:30.
So when the gentlemen finally showed up the following day several hours late, I had to yet again try and communicate to him what needed to be done through a phone app. He tore up the floor leaving behind the existing quarter round and then laid some concrete in the hole smoothed it over and within fifteen minutes started laying the glue and flooring down OVER WET CONCRETE. When i asked him about it he assured me it would be fine and continued on. When he did finish i tried pointing out that the old quarter round was still there and that it was bent upwards (from removal of the damaged flooring) he promptly went out got his nail gun, nailed the original quarter round back down smeared some caulk over it and said the job was complete and left.
When i called and spoke to the manager i asked questions about my concerns and issues with the repair work which were not answered and were dodged continually. They agreed to remove the quarter round charge and concrete charge from my bill to try and make things "ok" which was nice of them and I appreciated that but I was still very concerned about the quality of work and if I would have issues with the wood being laid over wet concrete and so i asked again about it and then she went on a rant about how they dont guarantee patches and that all i am trying to do is get out of paying the remainder of the bill, which i wasnt as insurance was paying for it, and when i tried to calm her down to assure her thats not what i was trying to do she got even more angry and told me to shut my mouth and i had my chance to talk and now it was hers and she continued to go on for another 30 seconds and ended with her angrily saying they were just gonna count this as debt loss and hung up on me.

I highly recommend people avoid this company at all costs.

We purchased carpet from here when we moved into our new home for 2 rooms, and after the experience the first time we decided to go with them again. This time we were doing 2 different rooms, so I went back. We had the install on May 8th, and encountered a problem in the small room. It looked to me like a seam 2 ft inside the door, I called Deidre and she sent the Lead Tech out to inspect. They determined it was a flaw and went back and checked the roll and the entire roll was compromised, so they ordered another roll and scheduled the redo for May 12th. Scarlet was the installation coordinator who handled both appointments. May I say this: " I HIGHLY recommend This business!!!" These people are on TOP of their game and the Customer Service goes above and beyond, so much so that Deidre even called me today (May 15th) to make sure that we were happy with the install. I am blown away with the professionalism of this business! If you need flooring, this needs to be your first stop in considering making a purchase. I am not an easy person to please, so when I take the time to review a business whether it is good or bad it's about a real experience. I have no connection to them other than a VERY HAPPY REPEAT CUSTOMER! Keep small local business in business, especially when you get the service WE received! Thank you to everyone at James Carpets for the wonderful experience, outstanding customer service, great price on a great product, and your professionalism on handling critical issues. BRAVO!!!!

I’ve purchased many area rugs, typically online from Wayfair, etc., & have usually been pleased. However, since moving to Huntsville 4 yrs ago, I have used 3 businesses for floor needs and highly recommend all for customer service & quality. My first 2 recommended James Carpets when they could not identify a high-style commercial carpet for 2 rugs for a newly-decorated eclectic multi-purpose room. Brooklin Knott was fabulous from the outset. She identified 5 plaid/patterned green-yellow-black choices, worked extensively with the vendor on shipping samples directly to me, & expediting ordering, shipment & delivery. I can’t say enough for her service or how beautiful the final product was.The cost was astonishingly low, 2 rugs + pads delivered—less than the one rug I was considering on-line AND in exact colors & sizes. I highly recommend Brooklin at James. I also highly recommend the 2 who sent me her way: Haley’s Flooring (rugs & porcelain tile—Jeff) & Huntsville Decorating (paint, carpet, hardwood—owner Terry Campbell). GREAT HUNTSVILLE choices!

When Valor Communities did not order the backsplash for my home, Scarlett was a huge help with picking out a tile and getting it ordered properly. Carlos and another guy installed it in one day and they did a beautiful job. Then a few months later when I had a water leak due to another Valor Communities oversight, Carlos and another guy had to completely tear out my shower floor/pan and the back wall of the shower. Carlos is actually the one who found the source of the leak (nail in a water pipe). Scarlett had the replacement tile ordered very quickly. Carlos and his coworker were promptly following up with me ready to install the new tile but I had to wait 3 days for Valor to get a piece of insulation. Carlos and his coworkers were very polite and hardworking and did a fantastic job at the repairs.
