It’s been a long time since I actually shopped for furniture at a store.
We have furnished our home with beautiful ’new to us’ furniture from antique stores, second hand shops, yard sales, and marketplace. I finally decided it was time we selected a new sofa for our formal sitting room / coffee room.
We took a day and as exhausting as it was, went to nearly every furniture store in town. We were looking at quality, style, cost, and service.
We started at Glidden’s and then went to all the others. By the end of the day we were back at Glidden’s. Their service is wonderful, quality impeccable, and we were surprised to find their prices not just competitive but lower than most of the other stores. Of course, I had a vision for what I thought I wanted and our sales associate Dennis was very helpful and accommodating.
I was surprised to find they are one of the only stores in our area where you can get custom upholstered furniture for very little additional cost.
We were able to get exactly what we wanted for what we wanted to spend and didn’t have to compromise on anything.
It was delivered this morning and I couldn’t be happier. I am so happy we still have a wonderful locally owned furniture store here in town.
If you are looking for quality furniture I would highly recommend Glidden Furniture on Wabash Ave.

Very nice, no pressure, just information. Quality products. Our new sofa arrived yesterday. Delivery men did an awesome job. Took our old one out, were so careful getting the new one in. Very nice, professional attitude. Love our new sofa too.

Christie is a bit rude, to say the least. Especially if you have an issue with a purchase. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired, and the delivery personnel have a "whatever fits" kind of attitude. We will never purchase from them again. Oh, and the item I purchased for a very costly amount fails in comparison to what I could have purchased at Big Lots for a fraction of the cost. If I could only turn back the clock.

Horrible customer service. They are nice until the product is sold, but downright nasty in dealing with any issues afterward. Christi, the owner is the only person in the entire establishment who can make a decision on anything and her employees can get downright vicious because they don't want to be bothered. They don't stand by their warranties or their word. STAY AWAY!

My fiancé and I were looking for a new sectional and went to Glidden Furniture. Once we got there we were greeted and taken around the show room. After looking we found a sectional we loved and had ordered that particular one. One week later we were told that the driver had wrecked and all the furniture was destroyed. We were disappointed, received our refund and started looking at other stores. Luckily we got a phone call a few days later and they said they could have another sectional out the following Friday. We were surprised at the effort that a company would go to ensure their customers satisfaction. They followed through and we got the dream couch we always wanted. The staff was friendly and cautious with our new couch. They brought it in and assembled it within ten minutes! If you want quality furniture and great customer service don’t look anywhere else. They are worth the wait!! 🙂

Worst place too buy furniture, they don't honor warrantees, Dennis is an absolute a--hole, spend 1000 dollars on a chair, the "warranty" was no longer valid because the chair was discontinued, refuse too give you a refund, customer service is absolutely, disgustingly bad, I've had better customer service from a pet fish!
