I am Very happy with my purchase. I bought an Ashley couch and dresser. The prices were much cheaper than the Ashley store. The couch is beautiful and so comfortable. The dresser did have holes in the wrong places for the handles, but Quentin was awesome and submitted a return to Ashley for those pieces that were defective. Also delivery was super fast. It would be helpful though if the website had some information on the delivery process. I didn’t realize the dresser wouldn’t come already put together or about the stair fee.

Devone and Victor went above and beyond to ensure that I was satisfied with my purchase from Birmingham Overstock. They not only delivered it to the exact spot in my basement-level apartment where I wanted it to go, they also assembled my couch for a small fee. These two made easy conversation and made me feel at ease. They took lots of care not to damage my possessions/bang walls/break anything. This couch was a steal and it is so beautiful!

My daughter and I ran across Birmingham Overstock advertisement on Marketplace. We weren’t planning on buying new but was able to find the bed we wanted here at a reasonable price. Rodney helped us with what we needed. He was very kind and professional. Furniture we wanted was in stock and we were able to take it home the same day. Great service.

I’m new to Birmingham, having moved here for work as a News Anchor.

Only 3 months after my purchase, the bed I bought from Birmingham Overstock cracked in half. Literally.

Unfortunately this happened two days after my car accident while I was lying in bed. Chasity was the manager I dealt with primarily. Although, somewhat professional, during one exchange, she came across a bit rude… disgruntled at my mention of leaving a review. Even saying to me at some point “You act like we opened the box and made the bed.”

(That’s bad business management, but I digress.)

I was told to take pictures of the cracked bed and someone would be sent out to replace it.

I did as asked.

I was also told by text, via Chasity, that the OWNER would be in to “see if they could [expedite the issue] and go from there.” A day later, a voicemail was left on my phone saying drivers would bring the new bed frame as well as an additional metal frame. I was NEVER told to keep the broken frame.

Not once. Not by text. Not by voicemail.

Chasity never communicated this to me nor did she explain it clearly to the delivery drivers. Upon their arrival, all three of us had different versions of how this problem was to be fixed. I was open to a bed replacement as long as it was assembled as well since I’d already paid for that service.

I work in communications for a living and this is truly unacceptable. I’m also clear, based on what I’ve seen, that this business has a habit of arguing with people via Yelp reviews/Google reviews instead of ensuring customer support. I have no plans or desire to go back and forth about this further. Instead I’ll take my complaints to the Better Business Bureau.

But reader, allow me to communicate this properly— I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THIS BUSINESS AGAIN.
