We are very disappointed with the vanity we got for our master bathroom. We worked with our remodeling contractor and they ordered Bertch vanities for our bathrooms. The master vanity came damaged on bottom corner and it was abvious that they painted over it to cover the damage. Also there was no damage to the shipping box so it was an existing damage before it got shipped to us. There were also peeling off the paint on one side of the vanity. Very poor quality for the money we paid.

The bathroom vanity that I purchased has a poor finish. It started coming off around the knobs within 2-3 months of use. I take very good care of it and make sure to wipe around the knobs and anywhere I see a drip of water start to run down it. It isn’t suitable for a bathroom or sink area where some moisture is a given. I don’t carelessly splash water on it. I can’t imagine what the cabinet would look like, if it wasn’t inspected and wiped after every use.

We are so disappointed with our Bertch vanities. We naively placed orders for two separate bathrooms at the same time, and there are problems with both. One vanity is not completely painted (see pic) and the other was painted so hastily that someone painted right over some masking tape. The tape is peeling and this vanity has not even been installed yet, leaving visible unfinished wood. There is also a crack along the casing. We will not purchase Bertch products again.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience!! I’ve waited 10 years to remodel my kitchen and you’d think after spending $30K on brand new cabinets, they’d be quality but that has been far from the case! And customer service has been HORRENDOUS! After waiting 12 weeks for them to arrive, 60% of the cabinets arrived with cracks, dents, chips, warped doors and paint issues. They didn’t align properly and there were gaps between cabinets due to the edges not being straight. My contractor installed them bc the holidays were weeks away and we were told new ones would be manufactured & shipped ASAP so replacements could be installed before Christmas. Well, needless to say the new cabinets arrived the week before Christmas and the new cabinets ALL had the exact same issues!! So obviously it’s not a random issue but a manufacturing issue. A rep from Bertch finally came out after my contractor called & called & called, and he assured us that the 3rd set would be perfect. Guess what?!? The 3rd set arrived after 6 weeks and apparently no one at the factory double or triple checked them (as I was promised would happen). All have the same issues ~ cracks, dents, dings, finger marks in the paint finish, smudges, etc. I am appalled!! Where’s the quality control, Bertch? Do not get Bertch cabinets!!

Sent me a cabinet with a gouge and zero urgency or willingness to expedite a replacement. I wish I looked at the reviews of this company before ordering their product as it appears my experience is not unique. Do not make the same mistake I did.

UPDATE: you can see my original review below, you will also see Bertch just replied to my experience. The idea that they take pride in their craftsmanship is just words, look at the photos for the proof of the craftsmanship I’m also adding a picture of one of the cabinet doors that they sent as a replacement you tell me if that shows that they pride themselves on quality control. It’s not even the same color white. Small claims court here we go, I have spent so much money because my contractor has put in so many extra hours going over all their mistakes attempting to fix it and or inspecting cabinetry. They should be offering A reimbursement to cover this extra cost. What a joke their customer service is. You can say whatever words you want Bertch, but I have the proof in my pictures about the kind of customer service you offer. Do yourselves a favor people and do not order Bertch. Original review: Thought I was purchasing high end quality cabinets, definitely not the case. First round of cabinets in and there were 21 imperfections and problems. Things like scratches, the ends of a cabinet run not painted, seeing wood through the “painted” cabinet, replacements came in, same problems on all the replacements!!!! Third time there were less problems, but still received some imperfections! My contractor has spent well over 25 hours EXTRA fixing there mistakes (for example multiple doors installed upside down), to inspecting three full deliveries due to so many problems. Bertch has been disrespectful asking me to cover the cost of some the replacements, and not willing to reimburse all the extra costs of having my contractor inspect for their mistakes. Absolutely horrible cabinets and customer service!!!

If I could leave no stars I would. We received a new kitchen from Bertch in December. We have saved and dreamed of this kitchen for years. We received many cabinets in that were put together poorly and we had to send back and we had A TON of finishing issues with our cabinets. They sent someone out who was supposed to fix them, but left a big mess and they looked worse after he left than before he came. He left paper towels on the counter tops & in cabinets and splattered stain all over my new counter tops. I reached out to Gary Bertch ( the owner) and he assured me they would pay special attention to the items being replaced but didn't care to much to fix or compensate me for the horrible quality or inconvenience. He told me the finish we chose (matte) didn't always take well to the wood we chose (alder). If that was the case I don't think that should be offered as an option. He didn't even respond to my most recent email. These cabinets were supposed to be a higher end, and they were not. I would NEVER recommend these cabinets to anyone. I could go on but the pictures should speak for themselves.

This my 3rd and last Bertch purchase. Their product just keeps getting worse. The first was a 36" cabinet for the powder room. Ok. The second was a 60' cabinet for the master bath. Damage to the back and poor fit and finish but not in visible areas. The 3rd and last was 3 cabinets, 36", 36", and 24".I had to attach the legs, but they shorted me one leg and sent the cabinets without corner blocks. I had to make them and they needed to be 1" thick, not 1" nominal. They were not easy to fashion. They came with no instructions, there are none on their website, and none on youtube. The hot glue on the bottoms was overapplied and needed to be cut out before i could install the corner blocks. The cabinets were not inexpensive. I expected much better quality. If you buy these cabinets be prepared to do a lot of work to make the install work. Be sure you are handy or have good people doing the work. Be prepared for some up charges for the install if you have to hire. I will not be buying Bertch for the kitchen. JIm A
